About Me
I have been a member of the Orthodox church since 1988. I have been interested in the epistemology of religious belief since my Methodist childhood, when I tried to solve the existence of God problem on the school playground. As a result of these efforts, I earned a BA with Honors in Religious Studies, with an emphasis on Oriental religions and church history. After two years of graduate work in Patristics, I became disenchanted with the politics and personalities peopling the university and shoved off. After reading Alfonsus de Liguori’s Preparation for Death, my departure from the mad, mad groves of Academe was finalized. I eventually became a Latin teacher, but after many years switched to math, which has proven to be ceaselessly entertaining.
